چکیده
In recent years, the vapor deposition of zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) has gained high attraction due to its good scalability, conformality, and thickness control. The present study provides new fundamental insights regarding ZIF-8 from zinc oxide (ZnO). During synthesis, ZnO thin films with different percentages open porosity (14.5%–24%) were subjected a 2-methylimidazole for conversion times (20 min–24 h). For first time, impact onto converted is investigated. Grazing incidence X-ray diffraction reveals randomly oriented crystallites ZIF-8, which already appear after 20 min conversion. thickness, roughness, average particle height layers increase reaching values up (172 ± 20) nm, (29 3) (113 8) respectively, obtained 14.5% porosity. At long (i.e., 24 h), results hint at greater precursor porosities resulting in lower thicknesses as 24%-porous show (132 (25 nm (80 respectively. Additionally, potential photocatalyst degradation organic dye methylene blue was studied. enhances by approximately 8% when compared without photocatalyst.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are emerging material class for the past few years due to its tailorability characteristics for various applications. However, the research and development (R&D) of MOFs is still scarce for fuel cell system. This may be due to the several difficulties faced in selecting a good MOFs-based electrolyte, which consequently affects both proton conduction and methanol ...

Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) are a new class of nanoporous compounds which consist of tetrahedral clusters of MN4 (M ) Co, Cu, Zn, etc.) linked by simple imidazolate ligands.1,2 As a subfamily of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), ZIFs exhibit the tunable pore size and chemical functionality of classical MOFs. At the same time, they possess the exceptional chemical stability and rich st...

Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs), a subclass of metal organic frameworks, are built of tetrahedral metal ions bridged by imidazolates. They have permanent porosity and relatively high thermal and chemical stability, which make them attractive candidates for many industrial applications. In recent years, significant progress has been made in developing ZIFs into membranes and thin films fo...

For the first time a top-down process was used to control the spatial location of Metal-Organic Frameworks on a surface. Deep X-ray lithography was utilised to micropattern a Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework layer on a sol-gel surface, with exposure hardening the sol-gel by inducing crosslinking while leaving the frameworks intact.

Using neutron inelastic scattering and diffraction, we have studied the quantum methyl rotation in zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8: Zn(MeIM)(2), MeIM = 2-methylimidazolate). The rotational potential for the CH(3) groups in ZIF-8 is shown to be primarily 3-fold in character. The ground-state tunneling transitions at 1.4 K of 334 +/- 1 mueV for CH(3) groups in hydrogenated ZIF-8 (H-ZIF-8)...
